Aquarium Reset for New Projects

Aquarium Reset for New Projects

Keeping newts as pets was the most delightful time in my aquarium hobby.

Time goes by and yet, I am still feeling for my newt-a-girl SheShy.

Here you can see the 29 galloon aquarium (paladarium) one month after I released my 3 wild caught newts back to their home place.

In this tank I tested different ideas and designs of sustainable self-feeding aquarium for fish and newts.
It would take another year or two to share with you all the info through my weekly publishing videos.

Meantime, I reset this aquarium in July 2023.

At that time I still had some ongoing projects with plants and testing ideas of self-feeding aquariums.
Most interesting was culturing Scuds and growing mosses on a top platform inside of the aquarium.
I have already published videos about culturing scuds in this way.

I still have to process videos about mosses and plants.

Here you can see the aquarium after another reset as in August 2024.
By this time I completed all my ongoing projects with terrestrial plants growing in high humidity.

Now I have the whole 29 gallon tank for new projects.
Actually some of my current projects originated in 1 gallon jar aquariums years back.
Most noticeable projects are about algae control, fish density population and self-sustainability.
So, for the next couple years I want to scale up my old jar projects for testing them in this 29 gallon tank.

I am a big fan of livebearer fish.

I picked the smallest livebearer fish for all my sustaining aquariums projects.
It used to be dwarf Guppies and Blue Star Endlers.

And most recently I've been experimenting with Least Killifish livebearer fish in this 29 gallon aquarium.
Here you can see the aquarium as it is in April 2025.

I am testing here a lot of new ideas and will talk about them in future videos :)

Have fun and happy aquariums :)
