Nature provides examples of landscapes for terrariums everywhere you look.
There are so many different mosses and lichens to choose from.
The mix of colors and shapes is very inspirational.
There are a lot of things to consider for what to put in a terrarium.
Eventually, I pick nice-looking reindeer lichen, also often called reindeer moss, for my 29-gallon paludarium.
I put the reindeer lichen on the land platform among different types of land mosses on April 9th.
All look nice.
One week later on April 14th.
The bush of reindeer lichen is noticeably breaking apart.
It could be the high humidity of the paludarium that breaks the reindeer lichen.
Also, night-time observation reveals a gang of isopods very actively feeding on reindeer lichen.
High humidity, isopods, or actually both of them, have destroyed the reindeer lichen in a matter of one month.
