Algerian Ivy on Top of Aquarium

February 18th, 2017
This Algerian ivy has grown noticeably in the past 6 weeks.

The new leaves are a brighter green color.

The sand stays damp even after I stopped watering the plant.

 March 13th, 2017
The plant grows steadily through the winter.

The root has grown most noticeably.

Here you can see about 25-30 cm long root.

I trim the end of the root.
It should encourage growth of secondary roots.

March 27th, 2017
It took less than 2 weeks for secondary roots to start growing.

Here you can see the secondary roots growing from different spots on the primary root.

May 11th, 2017
The secondary roots have grown much longer in the past month.

And a new primary root grows through the pot.

Here you can see the new root.

The Algerian ivy looks adorable on top of my small aquarium.
Have fun and happy plants :)
