Aquaponics

Aquaponics:
a system of aquaculture in which the waste produced by farmed fish or other aquatic animals supplies nutrients for plants grown hydroponically, which in turn purify the water.

Here are some examples of the simplest aquaponic systems.
Roots of plants are placed in aquariums populated by fish and snails.

This peace lily plant has lived in this aquarium for 15 years.

This aloe vera plant has lived in aquariums for one year.

Those are  some of the plant types suitable for aquaponics.
Some plants fit better than others for this purpose.
I experiment with different plants and will keep you updated.

Have fun and happy aquaponics :)
