Aponogeton in Aquarium Year Round

July 2nd, 2017
Here you can see my first, 6 month old, Aponogeton plant.

Buy Aponogeton on Amazon:

I want to see Aponogeton growing in a larger aquarium.

July 13th, 2017
I put a bulb of Aponogeton in my newly built HD aquarium.
The bulb was waiting for it since the last year ;)

July 16th, 2017
 The Aponogeton is already growing!

 July 24th, 2017
 The Aponogeton grows fast!

Here you can see white roots.

 July 31st, 2017
Leaves of the plant are already curling on the water’s surface, marking 25-30 cm of monthly grow!

August 8th, 2017
Leaves of the plant curl along the water’s surface.

They are about 45 cm long now.

New leaves sprout every week.

Here you can see my first, about 8 month old, plant.

 The old leaves get yellowish.

New leaves grow all the time!

October 2nd, 2017
The old plant has lost most of its leaves.
It gives room for Hairgrass to grow ;)
You can see the thin leaves of Hairgrass behind Aponogeton.

The new Aponogeton plant in HD aquarium looks nice!

October 28th, 2017
Only 1 leaf remains on the old plant.

November 25th, 2017
Last week, I accidentally pulled the plant out of the gravel.

A flower bulb grows!

November 28th, 2017
There are more flower bulbs growing.
The first flower blooms!!

Here it is.

Take a closer look at this beauty!

December 1st, 2017
All flowers bloom!

December 4th, 2017
 Blossoms grow in length.
I wonder if the plant will have seeds or grow new bulbs.

December 18th, 2017
The plant keeps blooming!

 March 16th, 2018
Some leaves wilted in the past week.
New flowers start blooming after about 3 months!

May 12th, 2018
New leaves sprout as old leaves wilt.

Here, you can see new sprouts.
I covered the base of the plant with gravel, leaving the bulb above the gravel - to see if a new bulb will grow.

After about 6 months, new leaves start growing from the first bulb left in the old aquarium!

Here, you can see the re-growing old Aponogeton.
I cultivate algae and don't change water in my aquariums.

Have fun and happy plants :)
