Flowers of this rose come in rich red and white marble colors.
I water the plant once a week with dechlorinated water to keep the soil slightly damp.
Spray the plant.
Refreshed flowers look nicer.
A couple weeks later on May 14th, I trim off bloomed flowers and wilted leaves.
Cut a stem.
This cutting had a flower that was removed.
Remove all bottom leaves.
I keep the very top three branches.
Trim the cutting to a desirable length.
Cut a new stem that never had a flower.
Remove all bottom leaves.
Also, trim the cutting at the bottom.
The 10 cm long cutting on the left flowered.
The 6 cm long cutting on the right did not bloom yet.
I want to check if these roses cuttings will root in water.
Let's put them in one of my aquarium gardens.
May 14th, 2019
Keep all leaves above water.
The bottom of stems stays in the water.
Three weeks later on June 6th.
A root grows on the cutting without flower.
All leaves are green and healthy.
Another root grows in the following week.
June 19th.
No roots grow on the flowered cutting.
Three roots have grown on the cutting without flower.
August 11th, 2019
The roots have grown strong in the past 3 months.
The bush spread about 8 cm wide.
And the roots grow about 8 cm long.
I move the plant into a smaller 3 liter aquarium garden.
September 10th, 2019
The roots has grown visibly stronger.
The tip of one leaf is dry.
October 13th, 2019
The rose has been growing slowly and looks nice with roots in aquarium for 4 months so far.
I am looking forward to seeing how the rose plant will go through the Winter in this aquarium garden.
