The best food and medium for culturing live food - DRY LEAVES

I've been using plants growing in my aquariums to make food for my fish.

Air Dry the plants or blend them with other ingredients - whichever way your fish like it.

Leaves make healthy, always accessible food for your fish, snails and other critters.

Also, I've been using edible terrestrial plants, mulberry leaves in this example, to make fish food flakes.

Collect juicy green leaves during the warm season and dry them for feeding pets all year around.

Shrimp, snails and fish love dry green leaves.
And you should know that most fish flakes sold from pet stores are made with some type of dry leaves.

Adding different dry leaves is a simple way of improving the diet of your pets.
Shrimp, scuds (Gammarus), snails, seed shrimp and such feed on dry leaves all year around.

And all those critters feeding on leaves make great live food for fish!

Yep! I've been feeding dry leaves to my fish and to the critters that my fish eat.

And there is more to dry wilted leaves!

Wilted dry leaves are food and the best water retaining medium for culturing Springtails and Grindal worms.

Grindal worms and Springtails make one of the best live foods for fish.

Isopods chew tree bark really well along with dry wilted leaves.

My Red-spotted (Eastern newts) and even toothless Guppies and Endlers fish eat Isopods too.

Dry leaves serve as food and the most natural medium for culturing all those terrestrial critters.

And it stands true for Earthworms, Red worms and many other worms and critters.

Yep. Dry leaves are the best natural, the most versatile source of food and medium for culturing live food.

I store dry wilted leaves in ziploc bags at room temperature all year around.
I made videos for you to check on how I make fish food and how to culture live food on leaves.

And you can find dry wilted leaves anywhere trees grow all year around.
Avoid picking dirty dry leaves from the piles on the ground.

Get dry wilted leaves right from the trees.

Leaves on trees are the cleanest.

Leave the piles of leaves for dogs to do what dogs do.

There are always plenty of dry wilted leaves on trees in parks and on streets.

Just look around as you go and check my videos for details.

The living world above and under water is built around leaves.
And now you have the knowledge and no excuse for not using leaves :)
Have fun and happy pets :)
