We setup a playpen for kittens in our living room just before bringing them in.

This XL size playpen designed for large size dogs and cats.
It looks very specious for 3 tiny size 6 weeks old kittens.
There is enough space for them to play inside of the playpen even after we put in the large size toilet, bowls with food and the basket to sleep.

Oh yes! kittens take all the space to play.
Leave one door open during day time for kittens to explore the living room.

One of the kittens gets on the roof of the playpen right away - that's what good kittens do :)

It makes his siblings very jealous.

No-no buddy! This is too high for you to jump off yet.

This playpen made of two connected sections - two rooms so to say.
The main purpose of the playpen is to keep pets safe inside of the playpen when nobody is around to watch them.

Look at this one - at 6 weeks old he can climb up and jump down from the roof of the playpen.

There are plenty of toys for kittens to play around the living room.
We keep only essential items for kittens to eat, drink, poop and sleep in the playpen.
The playpen is their safe house for the next couple weeks.

Feeding time.

Open roof makes it easier to move all items in and out of any section of the playpen as necessary.

The open door allows kittens to come and go as they wish.

At this age little kittens eat wet food 3-4 times a day.
And their have clean water to drink anytime.

Open the roof only when I have to move or clean anything inside of the playpen.
It's easier for me to bend over the roof than climb through the door :)

It is the first night for the kittens without their mom and in the new place.

Little sleepy head :)

Let's close the door for the night to keep all kittens inside of the playpen.

Kittens get some snacks and water for the night.

It was a big long day for them - they all tired.

You can open the roof with one hand.

We put a place for kittens to sleep in the far section of the playpen.
At this age kittens love to cuddle to sleep together.

Close the roof and all doors to keep kittens inside of the playpen for the night.
Be safe and sleep tight :)

I checked on kittens in the middle of their first night.
Already up and... busy kittens they are :)

Around 6 am kittens all gathered by the door waiting to get out.

I see your pretty paw pushing the door :)
Good morning!

Let's get the door open.

Here we go.

Stretching and catching is a great way to start the day!

We already setup the whole living room with toys, scratchers, cat tree and toilet for kittens to use.

And kittens know to do what they have to do :)
Tiny kittens feel comfortable using this specious toilet and XL size cat tree.

We can do it again and again for ever :)

The front door of the playpen stays open for the whole day.

Kittens like to play inside of the playpen as much as outside in the living room.

It is their safe house with all essentials.

I like to watch them playing around all day :)

Kittens enjoy jumping and climbing walls of this playpen.

The playpen is made of soft and yet durable fabric safe for kittens.

Kittens take a couple naps during daytime often right in the playpen.

They feel comfortable and safe in the playpen.

The bouncy roof serves as a playground too :)

Clean inside of the playpen as necessary.

Cleaning the playpen never stops kittens from playing :)

They actually enjoying it!

Everything new needs to be taken with cautious.

And than the game goes on :)

Freshly cleaned playpen prompts more gaming, more fun ;)

So much space! So much things to do!

The design of this playpen seems to be perfect and more suitable and safer for kittens than heavy duties playpens made without roofs.

I put absorbing pads, and mats and blankets to cover the floor of the playpen.

It all makes cleaning easier and kittens like it!

Kittens grow fast.

6-7 weeks old kitten plays fine on the roof of this playpen.

9-10 weeks old kittens on the roof can fold the playpen just like this.

Though, playpen springs back on it's own to the normal position.

And kittens stay safe all the same when they are locked inside of the playpen.
Well, at this point kittens are already old enough and can be left without playpen.

One month later I put the playpen back for one hour to see if 3 months old kittens would have fun.

It takes minutes to setup the playpen.

My kittens were all over it right away :)

Of cause, it's their safe play house!

They don't want to get out of the playpen...

This playpen takes very little space when folded flat.

I am going to keep the playpen folded in a storage for some emergency situation if it ever comes to it.
This playpen served my kittens really-really well and still ready for more :)
